AHH! I lured you in with my awesome hashtag! #blanketburrito
This week’s edition of Letter’s Between Friends…Tricia writes to me! (Did you see my letter last week?)
Dear Lindsay,
In just a couple hours, I’m going to pick up Subway sandwiches, bring them to your office, and have lunch with you. If ever there were a time NOT to write a letter, this would be it. Or instead of telling you about my life (which I will probably just repeat in person), I could think of something witty or inspirational to say.
Unfortunately, my brain is dead. Seriously, I have been the biggest bum on the planet for the last week. Part of it is probably post-road trip collapse. And without a job, I tend to be pretty aimless. AND with the end of fundraising approaching and the beginning of legal documents approaching (visas, direct deposits), I’m just kind of shutting down from the stress.
That’s all the things I’m NOT doing, so what’s filling my time? Mindless fun! I’ve read a ton, which I know is not super interesting to you. I’ve been watching a lot of Jane the Virgin, which is HILARIOUS and I think you might enjoy. And I’ve become super obsessed with Hamilton: An American Musical. It’s a Broadway musical about founding father Alexander Hamilton. I know. That is probably the nerdiest sentence in existence. And I can’t even claim that I’m not a nerd, because I am, but I promise I’m not THAT nerdy, it’s just so amazingly well done. I’m probably going to make you listen to a song from it at lunch, so prepare yourself.
We’ve talked before about how we are both outgoing introverts. I’m definitely feeling that conflict this week. I want to hang out with people, but whenever the opportunity to leave the house comes up, I just kind of curl up in my nest of blankets until it goes away.
But I don’t feel that way about seeing you today. You are always effortless to be around – whether because we’re so similar, or because we’ve been friends for so long, or because you’re just crazy amazing!
So thanks for being amazing, and for luring me out of my laziness and into the world of real people. Can’t wait to see you soon!
Love,
Tricia
