Dear Lindsay,
I’m not going to punish you for going through hell and not having the energy to write to me. That would make me a very selfish friend, and while that is occasionally true, it’s not something I’m going to make extremely obvious on a blog. However, if you want inspiration….you should take pictures of some real-life adorable animals for me!
I’m trying to get a cat here. Two of my friends are huge cat-nerds like myself, and they both have adopted street kittens. There were two kittens hiding in an abandoned building, and they were trying to endear them to humans. I just found out last night that one of them has disappeared and the other has an eye infection. 🙁 We’ll see what happens, but in the meantime, some pictures from you might cheer me up!

10 Things You MUST Do in Greece
- Find a building that is white and blue.
- Eat REAL Greek yogurt. Then tell me if Americans got it right.
- Pick an olive from an olive tree. Or a fig…a fig will work too.
- Take a picture of the most picturesque Greek man.
- Dress up in authentic Greek garb…it looks AWESOME!
- Pose as a gladiator.
- Eat Feta cheese on something.
- Take a picture of somewhere that is in a motion picture.
- Be adventurous. Not dangerous…adventurous!
- Find something American in Greece.
I accomplished two more of your challenges! First, here is me in front of a building that is white and blue.
It’s from my weekend in Hydra, an island which is not QUITE as stereotypically picturesque as Santorini (which is the place everyone thinks of when they think of blue-and-white Greece), but it’s still really lovely!
AND Mallory helped me go above and beyond #9. I haven’t really been sure what “adventurous, not dangerous” means, so we really went the distance with it and were….well, super dumb. But it did help us to have an amazingly hilarious time as we explored Greek sites, so thank you!
What am I up to now? Are you keeping track of these or am I?
Oh, and I missed a prime opportunity to take a picture of a picturesque Greek man. While walking down the street, one of the hosts stood directly in front of us, spread out his arms, and asked if we wanted to eat at his restaurant. “No,” I said. “What about a hug? A kiss?” he said.
He was so tall, Lindsay! And SO HANDSOME. But my Stranger Danger anxiety just kept me walking past, and it wasn’t until later that Mallory pointed out I could have at least asked for a picture with him. DANG IT. Another time, another handsome Greek man, I guess!
I hope your life is getting calmer and easier and lovelier! I miss you, and I wish I could take you out for coffee and pastries at Panera.
