So today… It happened. The girls went back to school AND Ruthie started kindergarten.
No. I did not cry. No, I did not cheer (out loud).
The excitement REALLY all started last night. Talk about TONS of life changes all at once! So, in the last 72 hours:
- Ruthie got 2 shots (and didn’t even cry! — SCORE!)
- Tessa moved into a BIG KID bed (a full size, so REALLY big kid)
- They both slept in the same room.
- The girls both started “School”/something new today
- AND Ruthie is riding the bus home today! (I think this is what I’m most nervous about.)
I will say it was nice not having to go get Tessa out of her crib this morning, but I KNOW that when one is up, she will wake the other up. We dropped Tessa off at her “school” which is just 1/2 day Daycare and then headed to school. Rue had quite the welcome of staff. It was so surreal as we walked through the doors. The next generation of Wineingers have officially begun at Princeville Schools! I showed her what door she will go in every morning and I headed off to the Boohoo/Woohoo Breakfast for kindergarten moms. It was totally mental Mom-shaming in my head, because I felt bad that I was celebrating on the inside. 🙂 The breakfast was to learn about the PTO and other Princeville Civic associations we could get involved in if we choose. It was a good, quiet, CALM morning.
Now, I’m sitting here at the shop reminiscing about the morning…making sure to remember all the memory pictures. IT’S SO QUIET. Ahhhh…
