HAPPY FRIDAY! Please excuse me if I’m a little scatter-brained…
Today, my list of 5 is prep for the girls’ party this weekend! Let the Festivities BEGIN!

ONE
I was going to do this great invite that got mailed and it was going to look like a ballot, but then it got to be last Saturday, so FACEBOOK INVITE! well, and anyone else that I ran into that wanted to come.

TWO
Cleaning up the garage is a battle…especially when you acquire beef from an entire COW! You think I’m kidding… We have 3 deep freezers and they are jam packed…so I organized and did this lovely project so we know exactly what we have! Like it?!!

THREE
This is my house, and although it looks like a mess, everything you see has SOMETHING to do with the party. Even Pinesol…

FOUR
Speaking of Pinesol, I’ve discovered last weekend over 4th of July, a GREAT way to keep the flies away is 1/2 water, 1/2 Pinesol in a spray bottle…Miracle Worker, NO JOKE!

FIVE
Yes, they wore these last weekend also, but here is the attire for the evening…DRESS CODE is red, white, & blue…

Let the partying commence…well, after I get back from ONE more grocery store run.

Oh, thank heavens it came when it did. I had no idea July would be this crazy. But, let’s enjoy this GREATNESS and not think about how my summer break is dwindling away, shall we??

1st off, my stylist (SHOUT OUT TO GINNY!) is so sweet and left me such a kind note. PLUS she’s reading me like a book and I love it!

ONE | Trinidad Geo Print Henley Top

Likes: This is, hands down, one of my new favorite materials. It makes all those (extra) curves POOF! Also, love the color. I dressed it down, b/c that is probably mainly how I would wear it, but I could easily throw on work pants and rock it.

Dislike: I would have to iron this. That is it’s only fault. It really wasn’t love at first sight. It was like..”Oh…yeah. Nice.” Is that a commitment reaction?

TWO | Blythe Tie Neck Knit Tankum…Naptime just ended…sorry for the diapered babe…and the not so good pic.

Like: um…the color. Yeah, I’m sorry. That’s about it. Just not a fan. But, I tried it on.

Dislike: I think the best way to put into words why I didn’t like this would be that it’s not trendy ENOUGH. When I look at this shirt, I see it hanging on the rack in the Misses section at Kohl’s… and I don’t shop there…
I mean the misses section…I definitely shop at Kohl’s.

THREE | Seaside Mix Material Top

Like: I’ve been looking for one of these! And, as you can see above, I can style it for work AND play! I love the pattern color and how it lays.

Dislike: I’m having an arm insecurity issue lately, so it’s gotta be a GOOD t-shirt for me to consider this. Def. contender!

FOUR | Parvin Reversible Tote

Like: It’s so basic that it’s EASY & the fact that it’s reversible means I technically get two bags! ALSO, the bag it came in was a much needed bag for inside the bag.

Dislike: No pockets (because it’s reversible, obviously).
Also, I don’t know if it’s a pro or a con, but all day I was thinking it was black and I told a friend it was black, but then when I was looking over stuff tonight, it’s TOTALLY navy. That makes more sense with the kelly green. *good catch, Emily.

FIVE | Avena Sleeveless Split Neck Top

Like: THE PLAID! I’m become a sucker for plaid. That would go AWESOME under a denim jacket or a cardigan.

Dislike: ARM PIT FAT! It made me so self-conscious. UGH!
(I see a trend and am IGNORING that I need to work on my arms more)

Oh, Hey Friday!
You came so quickly…I have so much to do still..

My List of 5 is best spoken in pictures this week…

This, my friends, is what a sugar comma looks like on a almost 3 year old. If you look closely, you can still see the sprinkle on her forehead.

I’m in the process of making TONS ‘o Ponyas! A Ponya is just the Northwest Afican word for REALLY basic skirt. I’m making some for our trip to Guatemala. (Is that how you spell ponya?? hmmm..)

As much as the rain has really been a damper on the summer (EVERY pun intended…), it’s made my flowers go crazy, and I LOVE IT!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY, NATHAN! We got Nathan is first real pair of boots this week. His brother is wearing them in for him because Nathan couldn’t event get his foot in. BUT AREN’T THEY WONDERFUL!?

Finally, HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all these wonderful Men!
Yes, I understand that three of these men are not even fathers yet, but they are father figures to my girls.
God,
I pray a prayer of endurance and thanksgiving over and over for the roles these men play in my girls’ and family’s life. I pray they seek You in the BIG and the little, because they are leaders both physically AND spiritually, and I trust them all with my life and the life of my family. AMEN

God didn’t give you this heavy responsibility to carry alone. I love you!
