Unleash the Power to Lighten Up!
(backstory: H@H this year was Unleashing your Superpower as a Mom/Wife/Woman…making sure you’re plugged in to the ULTIMATE power source! Awesome, right?)
I have joined with a new group of bloggers’ link up festivities from Hearts at Home, a fabulously wonderful and extremely resourceful group of Women Seeking after Christ! Lead by Jill Savage, this is the Third Thursday Thoughts.
Let me just start by saying I have begun writing this post about 3 times now…And, why am I having so much trouble writing about a quality that I really don’t struggle with?! Being light-hearted and goofy is what I do best. In fact, I ere on the opposite side! Sometimes people don’t take me seriously! So, this is how you can this is what you do to this is REALLY HARD!
Well…let’s try this way…In my life, to “Lighten Up” means…
- To fall asleep thinking about stuff instead of letting that STUFF keep me up.
- To have a dance party with my kids at 9:30p after their bedtime.
- To say, “No,” and not feel guilty about it.
- To celebrate the freedom God has given me instead of dwelling on the rules I must follow.
- To know that they are human, they will disappoint, but still giving them another opportunity to get it right.
- To belly laugh for a GOOD 10 minutes. *calorie burner!!*
- To give her a pony ride and cuddle on the coach on rainy days ( perfectly acceptable reason to save the cleaning for later), and run in the sprinkler with M&M smudged all over her face on the sunny days.
- To let her wear her beautiful dress which just happens to be a Sophia the First nightgown.
- To celebrate his quirky qualities and not point out his weaknesses to be fixed.
- To enjoy the family around me instead of wishing more were there.
- To ultimately ALLOW Jesus to take my extra burdens. He was created, sacrificed, and resurrected to take our extra weight. So, LIGHTEN UP, Lindsay, and let Him!
I love me an AWESOME shirt…
Or a hysterical video…
Or some of the funniest baby memes EVER…
But the HANDS DOWN BEST “Lighten-ing Up” is the weight lifted on the Cross and the gift God gave me in my forgiving hunk of a husband & my over energetic and extremely enthusiastic little leading ladies. Cute little punk-ettes!
Best. Superpower. Yet.
