Because I am TERRIBLY late… Because I work best in bulletted lists…Because the last time I wrote, I didn’t have a two-month old…

  • I HAD A BABY!  Joanna Sue arrived November 4th shortly after 9am and a little over 6lbs.
    • HIGHLIGHT/Moments worth documenting: Nathan had a play-off game the same day, and since Jo & I were both healthy I sent him off to the football game and listened as best I could on the radio.  They won.  As it should be.
    • What I remember most was nothing exciting.  It was just a quiet hour Joanna and I had in the middle of the day.  I couldn’t believe I just had my THIRD kid and I heard nothing.  I closed my eyes and brain-photoed that moment, b/c I knew that moments like that would be scares from now on.

  • I have a middle child.  Tessa took up that role INSTANTLY in almost EVERY essence of the word.
  • I have to make a new banner for the top of my blog.  Maybe this one:
  • I got two weeks and 5 days of maternity leave.  (Qualms of a small business owner)  Nathan got pneumonia & Tessa got an ear infection.  It doesn’t take long to realize after you have a baby that the world DOES NOT STOP.
  • I bought a quart of cookie dough from a young boy from church thinking that I won’t have energy to make many Christmas cookies.  Instead, I make 2 or 3 (or 4 or 5) cookies at a time when I’m by myself and make my self a LARGE cup of coffee and eat them ALL while they are still warm.
  • I got this AWESOME bag from The Festive Farmhouse and I’m SOO glad I got it.  This house of TOYS needs a good culling every once in a while and this is the PERFECT solution!
  • Jo is kind of a rock-star.  She’s SUPER laid back (I’m blessed with pretty low key babes) and at two months (this Saturday) she’s sleeping from 11p to 5:30a!  BOOM!
  • I. WANT. TO. BLOG. MORE!  But first, I need to do better about talking to Jesus, and then making sure I’m biblically wife-ing, and then the children, and then the business, and ya know…then when I’m not doing any of that, I blog.  *psh

Oh, Hey Friday!: For the Sake of Documentation

This week’s Oh, Hey Friday! is purely for documentation purposes…This happened in my life the week of August 14th.

ONE | The Girls are Sharing a Room

Mom came over Tuesday specifically to help me get baby clothes out & in order, and then Dad came after work and we make the move.  We moved both girls into the bigger bedroom…Tessa in a full bed & and Rue in her twin (their choice) & moved the crib into the smaller bedroom for baby Joanna.  We were pulling out onsies & outfits.  I don’t know if everyone says this, but I forgot how SMALL babies are!

I’m not sure if we were crazy to do all of this moving and change before the first day of school, but everything went off without a hitch.  Girls didn’t talk before bed, and Tessa didn’t fall out of bed.  Now, every morning when I wake her up, she is upside down in bed, but still ON the bed…so I’ll take that as a win.

TWO | What in the WORLD do I need for baby #3?

I’ve been cleaning/throwing out around the house and trying to get a few things in order…but 3 years ago was a long time…and a sleep deprived me 3 years ago AND now does not help the situation.  I’ve been searching on Pinterest at registry lists and trying to search 2nd time Mama lists and things…then comparing to what I have.  I’ve had a few people ask me what I might need, so I decided to make a VERY small registry on Amazon.  **I would LOVE some advise on things I may be forgetting!  Comment if you think of anything**

THREE | The Girls Start School

I wrote about this on Wednesday.  I can get pretty used to this schedule.  I was joking with Nathan last night…everyday I ask Ruthie how school went and what did you do… “Good…I don’t know.”  Does it REALLY start that early?!!  Tessa’s daycare sends a little report card home everyday.  And she brings home art projects and fun stuff.  I will say, I LOVE this face….

I think Ruthie is really digging this more independent thing.  This morning, she told me, “Now, don’t get out of the car when you drop me off.”  And I’m pretty sure that her bus rides home are one of the favorite parts of her day.  She is EXHAUSTED when she gets home and a little grumpy because we are taking naps away cold turkey (except for Football Fridays), but she seems to be having a blast.

FOUR | Baby Joey Yawns for the Camera

Yesterday was my BOTTOMS UP Apt.  aka the Glucose Test where you drink the TERRIBLE orange Gatorade stuff and sit for an hour.  We paired it with a Sono so I didn’t have to wait so long.  During the measurements, we got a sweet picture of Joanna’s face and she yawned for us.  I know some people think these are a big blur, but I thought it was sweet.

FIVE | Football Begins Again!

Tonight begins FOOTBALL again.  It’s just the Maroon & White scrimmage, but the girls are READY!  They absolutely LOVE Daddy’s football games (even though he’s just volunteering this year) because they get to run around and see all their friends.  AND they know that after Football is over, Baby Joanna is coming.

Have a GREAT weekend!  Ruthie & I are off for an adventure in Indianapolis!  I’ll keep you posted.  I’m almost POSITIVE it’s going to be an entertaining weekend! Bah!

The Drop Off: Ruthie Goes to Kindergarten

So today… It happened.  The girls went back to school AND Ruthie started kindergarten.

No.  I did not cry.  No, I did not cheer (out loud).

The excitement REALLY all started last night.  Talk about TONS of life changes all at once!  So, in the last 72 hours:

  • Ruthie got 2 shots (and didn’t even cry! — SCORE!)
  • Tessa moved into a BIG KID bed (a full size, so REALLY big kid)
  • They both slept in the same room.
  • The girls both started “School”/something new today
  • AND Ruthie is riding the bus home today! (I think this is what I’m most nervous about.)

I will say it was nice not having to go get Tessa out of her crib this morning, but I KNOW that when one is up, she will wake the other up.  We dropped Tessa off at her “school” which is just 1/2 day Daycare and then headed to school.  Rue had quite the welcome of staff.  It was so surreal as we walked through the doors.  The next generation of Wineingers have officially begun at Princeville Schools!  I showed her what door she will go in every morning and I headed off to the Boohoo/Woohoo Breakfast for kindergarten moms.  It was totally mental Mom-shaming in my head, because I felt bad that I was celebrating on the inside. 🙂  The breakfast was to learn about the PTO and other Princeville Civic associations we could get involved in if we choose.  It was a good, quiet, CALM morning.

Now, I’m sitting here at the shop reminiscing about the morning…making sure to remember all the memory pictures.  IT’S SO QUIET.   Ahhhh…

Things I Will Miss…

  • The girls playing at the store around me.
  • Dirty little feet and knees from being at the store.

Things I WON’T Miss…

  • Picking up the toys all over the store.
  • Dirty little feet and knees from being at the store.
  • Our VERY expensive trips to Casey’s.
