Loved this letter…It’s like I’m in Greece…but I’m not in Greece…**wishful thinking…**
Dear Lindsay,
Okay, so I liked writing to you while we were both in Peoria, but I REALLY like writing to you from Greece! I’ve always thought pen pals were the coolest thing ever, and that’s kind of what we are, but with a 27-year-history.
The new year is only two weeks old, and already it has been HUGE for both of us. I love that you’ve chosen to make your year all about “surrender,” and uh, yeah, you can take that. Me? I’m not ready to so publicly give up control. It might be a little egotistical, but I like to think that one of the things you’ve had to surrender this year is….me. I’m not a great best friend, what with my tendency to pack up and flee the country on occasion. BUT I am an okay best friend, because when I left, I was not about to surrender YOU.
My dorm room is tiny, but you are all over it!
The scotch tape you told me to bring.
Your list of challenges! And our picture, which just so happened to be the first day of the year in the randomized calendar I ordered.
Your “face” on my coffee mug, so we can keep having coffee together.
The MK makeup bag I got for hosting your first party! It is perfect for extra storage!
Everything but my eyeliner and mascara is now Mary Kay. I LOVE IT.
Having these pieces of you around my room is not nearly enough to make me stop missing you. But it’s better than nothing, and I’ll take what I can get.
I hope your week is going well, and that at least some of your stressors have decreased. If not, take yourself out for coffee and sing really loudly in the car or something. I miss you, friend!
Love,
Tricia
