This Friday on Oh, Hey Friday, I have found 5 Mom Shirts that BEST describe my life right now…
Basically, I have been doing inventory of what I have and what I need for Baby JoJo and making a list of what I need/need to replace. While I was looking for VERY important things, I found this Shop on Zulily called “Carpool Queen” and I have fallen in love with over HALF of these t-shirts… So, today, I have picked out FIVE of my favorite shirts on the page. I hope you enjoy.
ONE
I posted a picture on Instagram last week with a verse from 2 Corinthians just how withered and worn I was. Yes, there is a large part of parenting that you HAVE to take seriously, but more so, I’m letting loose a little and trying to have a little more fun with the girls. It seems to be helping… Like this conversation the other day…
(Set the scene: We are sitting in the living room & girls are playing playdoh while we watch TinkerBell on the TV)
Tessa: What are you eating, Mother?
Mom: Cherrios…I don’t think you’ll like them. They aren’t very sweet.
Tessa: Yea. Probably not.
Ruthie: Mother, when you eat does it hit baby Joanna’s head?
Mom: Um…no. But she does feel better when Mommy eats.
Ruthie: I know it doesn’t hit Jesus in the head because he’s in your stomach. He’s in EVERYONE’S stomach.
Mom: Alright…we’ll go with that for now. But that not EXACTLY that case…
Ruthie: Huh?
Mom: Who’s your favorite fairy? Fawn is my favorite! **The power of a subject change**
TWO
This is “Life with Tessa” depicted in a t-shirt. I can TOTALLY relate to this.
THREE
…and that bobby pin could be in my hair OR on my bra strap or on the broken rubber band holding my pants together. My mother calls me a problem solver and I wear that title proudly!
FOUR
…aka Sweating. There’s really more shadows than a glow from reflected light. Oh, maybe you were talking about that shine coming off of my greasy hair. That’s it!
FIVE
It really doesn’t take much these days. I am carrying differently with #3 than the other 2, so I can rock some pretty cute outfits this time because I only am carrying in the front…but that requires opportunities to be stylin’ and I don’t get many of those outside of the feed store. And you know…I’m ok with that probably means I’m at home in Nathan’s gym shorts…eating pizza or roasted veggies.
HONORABLE MENTION:
I’m beginning to figuratively wear this shirt proudly. I will be the FIRST to tell you I wanted all boys…That doc appointment this last time (in June) when I found out if it was a boy or a girl, my anxiety level completely went away when I found out it was a girl. I may never know that bond that a mother & son have, but these girls FILL my heart and they’re so stinkin’ funny. And to raise confident biblical women is something I KNOW I can’t do on my own which is just the way God wanted it. (I’m a control freak, you know…)
PS…aparently I’ve been away from Oh, Hey Friday for so long, that some of my regular link ups have stopped…so, here is one, and I’ll be on the look out for some more to link up to.
