Happy Truthful Tuesday!
I started this to encourage & empower EVERYONE out there…NO ONE is perfect! Feel free to comment or get something off your chest, but more so, let me tell you just a liiiiittle bit more about how I am far from a perfect mommy.
First…
Yesterday, I ate marshmallows with peanut butter on them. Like…a lot of them, when no one was around. And I may have double dipped. Looks like I need to go buy a new pb for company. 🙂
Second…
The Convo went something like this…
Me: Rue, do you think maybe you want to learn to ride horses?
Rue: Ohhh..horses! I love it!
Me: “Do you want to ride them?
Rue: Yeah! Sure.
Me: Well, What about maybe dancing? Would you like to learn how to dance?
Rue: Yeah! Sure. Oh, I love dancing!! With my crown on?
Me: You can dance with your crown on…seems fitting. What about playing baseball or soccer or something like that?
Rue: Yeah! Sure!
TOTAL fail on an attempt to figure out what she might be interested in. Now that she’s three, I feel like we need to start exploring our options here. I’m going to rule out sports for her sake now. For some reason, I’m feeling she has a slight girly girl streak. (Don’t know where she got that…) Then, this last Sunday, we had an opportunity to go ride some horses…so we jumped on it…I wanted to see her reaction…
Ladies & Gents, we have our answer…
Now, all she talks about is Sugar, that’s the horse in the picture, and Snow Cone (whose actual name is SoCo, but she identified better with Snow Cone).
Tessa was here nor there…she just thought their noses were soft. All’s to say, we start lessons in October.
Yes, I have made the comment, why pick THIS hobby? Of alll the cheaper things she could do, why introduce her to horses?
- I’ve always dreamed of riding/having/taking constant care of horses…
- I think it instills commitment to responsibilities and expectation. She would have to work for what she loves.
- SCHOLARSHIPS! There’s lots of possibilities out there if she chooses to stay active and go to school in some similar field. OR even 4H.
Gampa Steve said he would help us start showing cows, too! How fun/funny would that be??! Ruthie out there brushing and yelling at a cow that’s quadruple her size!
AAANNNDD…if she decides she doesn’t like it, at least we figure out early. I’ll keep you posted.
Happy Wednesday…It’s just that late, that it won’t be Tuesday when you read this. Such is life.
