This week makes a new and exciting venture for Wineinger & Sons.  This winter, we are building a spec home!  And with a little grief from my bro-in-laws and much blessing from my mom-in-law, I’ve been given the PRIVILEGE to be the designer!
This makes me go kind of NUT-ZO giddy and do a mini happy dance on the inside (when I’m in public), because I get to embrace my inner-Jojo…i.e. Joanna Gaines…

I’m pretty sure we would be best friends… like best…

For this weeks List o’ Five, I’m posting my excitements, my freak-outs, and my ideas… GIVE ME FEEDBACK if you wanna!  I want to make sure I’m not missing anything…

ONE | The Client

Name: Amy & Chris OR Sherry & Don
Age: 32-40 OR 55-60
Family: Two kids and an animal of sorts OR two grown kids with family that like to come and visit.  They love to entertain and like the Dunlap school area and all the new developments.  Amy/Sherry are very detail oriented and basically want to make sure the kitchen is PERFECT while Chris/Don want to make sure everything is finished and finished well.  They want an open floor plan for entertaining.  They would like to probably have an irrigation system and a fenced backyard, but not a deal breaker…

TWO | The Kitchen

I am working on a few edits with the kitchen layout (no big pantry; bar/peninsula instead).  With lots of research and help from a few designers, I have decided to put in ivory cabinets.  I TOTALLY believe that the kitchen sells a home, so I designed it that way with features like some glass cabinet fronts, hidden cabinet features (garbage, large drawers, etc.), under counter microwave, PLUS more, BUT here is the…

QUESTION OF THE DAY:

If my cabinets are ivory and all the other trim in my house is bright white, what do I do when they touch?  I’m I freaking out over nothing, or is there a trick that I don’t know about?

FIVE | The Decisions

Faucets, appliances, paint color, paint finish, cabinet layouts, closet organizers, window trim, can lights, sconces, fans, chandeliers, light switches, switch placement, carpet, floor, tile, backsplash, tub surround, and the list keeps going… Giddy-ness still going…
