Memorize:
He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time — 2 Timothy 1:9
Highlights:
- I began my first duties as a full fledged Hearts at Home Volunteer Media Relations Peoria Rep (Christine is pretty stinkin’ awesome!)
- I secretly love registration at school, because it’s some of the most interactions I get with the kids all year.
- Saturday was an unexpected lazy day! Nathan and I had plans for a date night, but once we were playing with the girls in the pool outside in the sunshine, there was NO WAY we were leaving. I loved that!
- Ruthie has learned some amazing things:
- [Listening to the “Colors of the Wind”] It’s Po-ka-han-tist! Hey Mom, Koo-ko-um is sooo serious!”
- I let Ruthie drink part of a Blood Orange Sanpellegrino while she was in the pool…”For me?! Aw..thanks, Mom! You the best!” “No, you’re the best.” No, ma. You da best!”
- [Lifting her up into her car seat in my car] “Oh, Mom…you make me nervous.” <–I say that to her a lot.
- Football season has begun…[also a Lowlight] I am a football widow yet again, but football is also the sign if fall…I LOVE FALL!
- Just Breathe- Katie (Magnolia Rein) has a very dear friend that we pray for all the time, Lauren. I went to school with her brother, but didn’t know her until Katie. Lauren has been battling Cystic Fibrosis since the fall of 2013. Between Lauren and another little girl I know, CF and it’s crazy lingering attributes really urk me and keep me praying for Lillian and Lauren and others in their shoes. ALSO HERE is what Katie is doing as well which is pretty sweet.
- xTreme Hike for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation– TEAM LB It’s a 21 mile hike for those to feel just some of the effects CF can have on it’s patients. They are looking for sponsorship!
- Katie also created the Just Breathe collection to help raise $$. Check out these awesome shirts! She’s got tanks, t-shirts, and hoodies. Place orders before August 30!
Katie explained the roses on the back to me this morning…When young kids get diagnosed with CF and have a hard time pronouncing it, they tell them to say “65 Roses.” Um..I about cried. Please consider buying one. They will make a direct impact on the battle against CF!
