Hello, my name is Lindsay and I am a procrastinator…
Funny thing, I was going to write a “Truthful Tuesday” post about how I was a procrastinator, but guess what? I procrastinated…
I leave in 2 days, and I still don’t feel ready. Monday night, I made panyas (did you see my IG Pic?), which is the African skirts we wore in Senegal, only I made them for the ladies on this upcoming trip. And, I had help 🙂 She said, “See Ma! I a Pinsess!”
Tonight, we weigh luggage. Each suitcase has to be under 50 lbs and that includes our stuff plus the donated goods that we are taking with us.
On a more personal note, I am REALLY struggling with the trip. People going on the trip with me, PLEASE KNOW! When we take off early Saturday morning, my whole heart will be there! I am committed to this trip. But man, am I struggling right now with some hurdles we will have to deal with on the trip and with some personal ugly feeling and stuff I’m leaving behind that I just need to GET OVER. I knew leaving during this time would be HARD, also! When I get back next Friday, I have the weekend and then I start school the following Monday. I have sooo many things on my plate right now besides this trip and school though… I have seriously thought about dropping this PLATTER and just cleaning of up the pieces, if you get my metaphor, but I know that God would much prefer I more heavily rely on Him. So that’s what I am doing. He’ll provide. He always does. How easy I forget that.
Plans while we are there:
- 3-Day Vacation Bible School with about 50ish kids
- Purchasing and handing out 10 Food Bundles to 10 families in need
- Room expansion on a VERY tiny church
- Visiting a near by orphanage and playing with some kids
Weather while we are there is humid & rainy, but between 75-85 degrees all week long. Also, we are visiting Antigua for a day. Um…can we say BEAUTIFUL!?!
I’ll post again on Friday. Now excuse me while I get my attitude checked. I may just go hop in bed with Ruthie…naps always help.
