It’s Tuesday…it’s been over a week, so..I guess…it’s time for me to plug back in…

A Beautiful Mess

So last week, I spent a made crazy week filled with 15-year-olds!  It was called SUPER SUMMER! Here is basically what it is…

I am astounded every time I go, and even more in awe that God used these young ‘ens to blow my spiritual mind!  A bonus for the week, although it doesn’t start that way, is that we are asked to basically unplug….no phones, no social media, nothing…I called Nathan and the girls to check in, but besides that, I was volunteeraly out of the loop.

Truth is…I really wasn’t anxious to plug back in…hence the fact that I’ve been home for over 3 days and I’m just now posting.

I’m missing my [big] kids.  After this, I’m hoppin’ on fb to check in on them.

How do you unplug?  I think I need to make this a “every-couple-months” thing.

PS..Don’t worry…I’ll post again this week because…MY STITCHFIX GOT MAILED TODAY!!! yay!!!

This Week in Review #26 — Prep Week

Memorize:

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”  1st Timothy 4:12  <– Making sure my kids get empowered…

Highlights:

  • Tessa LOVES the pool!  True water bug.  She was more adventurous than Ruthie!
  • We took the girls to Heritage Days, the town festival, in Princeville.  Tessa people-watched to her heart’s content & Ruthie rode rides.  Her smile was priceless.

Goals Accomplished:

  • I got the girls’ passports!!!  (How long as that been on my list??)
  • Packed and prepped for Super Summer!

Goals For this Week:

  • Get my shots for traveling.
  • Get invites out for the girls joint birthday party.
  • Box up small clothes and put the clothing sizes they are currently wearing in their drawers.
  • Make my “Fresh Egg” sign  Save for next week….

My Favorite Post This Week: Unleash the Power to Lighten Up  It was a hard one to write, but so glad I did.

What have I done this week to be intentional?

I am out this week as a Team Leader for Super Summer, which is a “training and learning experience for the students in your youth group who have already committed their lives to Christ and who are seeking fresh ways to develop their fullest potential as Christian leaders.” (SITE)  I’m working with Sophomores this week.  Pray for me… 🙂  I’m not promising post.  But I DO promise a week in review next weekend!

HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEK!  Mine is about to commence…after I sleep.  Good Night. zzz

 

This Week in Review #25 — REAL Summer Vacation

So the good thing about the large time laps between my “Weeks in Review” is that I have LOTS of pictures to choose from!  Glass half full, right!?

What a whirlwind of a month.  Technically, last week was my first week of summer vacation, but we had VBS.  I was so happy to be doing that, but TODAY is the real deal summer vacay feel!  We cuddled on the coach watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse until 10a. Then a random phone call here and text there, had me a little scurried, but it is now NAP TIME!  Ahhhh….*listen to the silence.*  And, nap time around here means BLOG TIME!

Highlights: (since I blogged last)

  • Nathan and I had an awesome anniversary get-a-way.
  • I am done with work minus a few ½ days here and there.
  • The girls and I had a FANTASTIC time at Vacation Bible School last week.  Rue had new stories everyday!
  • I am still in my PJs right now.

Goals Accomplished:

  • Ummm…..

Goals For this Week:

  • Get girls’ passports! *apt Tuesday!!
  • Get my shots for traveling.
  • Get invites out for the girls joint birthday party.
  • Create flyer for SUMMER FUN event we are doing across the street from our church!
  • Box up small clothes and put the clothing sizes they are currently wearing in their drawers.
  • Make my “Fresh Egg” sign

I have high hopes for this week!  I’m determined!

My Favorite Post This Week: Or since I posted last… Oh, Hey Friday! – Wild Ginger Favs  I’m really working on getting more jobs, and this, I felt, was a great combo of work.  AWESOME!

I also leave next Sunday as a youth chaperone for our youth group.  It is a super fun week called SUPER SUMMER!  I love it!  I have a blast, but this is added pressure for blogging and getting the house ready to be gone.  This will be a great week!!
