Why yes…yes, you are correct. I haven’t blogged since JANUARY 20th! WHAT! I don’t have a clue as to all the reasons that stopped me from posting, but other blogging friends can defend me…when the gap gets so big, you just don’t know where to pick up and start again or what to say or “Man! My next post better be a good one to validate why I haven’t posted in soooo long!” *No guarantees* So, let me do a mini HIGHLIGHT reel for the last 8 months, then I’ll let you know what we are CURRENTLY up to…
JANUARY | I hid away for a day in Chicago, which I blogged about here…
FEBRUARY | I started a high school girls bible study here in town, and these have to be some of the coolest girls! So glad I did it! I’m planting my roots just a little bit deeper here in Princeville & I love it.
MARCH | I honestly don’t remember much about March…I know I was busy…
APRIL | …probably because I was exhausted & puking, because, right at the beginning of the month, we announced Baby #3 was on the way! AND we added BEES to the Wineinger Farm!
MAY | Ruthie graduated from Preschool! She was so proud.
JUNE | Ruthie, Tessa & I, along with my mom & dad, headed to Phoenix, AZ to visit my Grandma Carol. The girls LOVED the plane ride and we swam TONS because it was over 105 every day! Their favs: The Butterfly House & swimming with Great Aunt Ann (when she swam with all her clothes on).
SIDE NOTE: We also found out Baby #3 is a girl. Joanna Sue Wineinger coming November 4th
JULY | While I was away at a youth camp, the girls gave each other haircuts. THEN, Ruthie, Tessa & I headed out on another adventure to Madison, WI for the church mission trip. Although it was exhausting, it’s something super import that we want our girls to be a part of every year. Their favorite times were the block parties (going down the inflatable slide) and playtime and lunch time with their cousins.
Now…what’s CURRENTLY going on with the Wineingers??
Working On | I’ve done some purging & cleaning. It’s crazy that our home will be a family of FIVE! Closet space is at an all-time low. Nathan has been diligently working on growing the business. We DID get the bid for the Peoria Zoo! YAY! So, once a month, we deliver to them. Tessa got to feed a giraffe once…she was pretty excited!
Reading | Hebrews…and Disney Princess books. I really need to get a new book to read. Any suggestions? Anything light-hearted and funny. I can’t do too serious right now. My brain…what brain…
Listening To | Myself through my children! They are playing, for the most part, pretty well together. If someone starts crying, I let them know they are old enough to figure out a solution and if I have to step in time-outs will be involved. One of them is usually the mother & the other is either a princess baby or a cat. Then Mother proceeds to discipline the counter part & I hear EXACTLY what I say to them when they are in trouble. *eyes are rolling* I feel like such a grouch sometimes.
ANOTHER SIDENOTE: They have this new thing of calling me, MOTHER. Not Mom, Mommy, Mama…Mother. I don’t know how I feel about it. It catches me off guard sometimes.
Making | Roasted Veggies ALL THE TIME! That is my craving this time…that and very weird. The other night, it was seafood. Or sometimes, I plow through a box of cereal in about 4 hours. And plans…I’m making lots of plans and getting things in order well in advanced (or at least the stuff that I can control) before November, so when excitement comes, there’s some order.
Feeling | Pretty tired. Human making is slight exhausting…especially when paired with human raising. Baby Jo’s most active times are 11pm and 5:45am. Summer has been fun for the girls. We are dealing with FIGHTING actually, quite a bit with the girls…I’m guessing that’s what I get for having them 23 months apart. BUT they are so different from each other, that’s it’s pretty entertaining to watch. Ruthie’s learning consequences of her choices (without lying) and Tessa’s learning how to defend herself. Mommy’s learning that when she’s pregnant, she has a short fuse. Then I end up apologizing for getting over angry.
Planning | Ruthie’s BIRTHDAY! She is 5 TODAY. We aren’t doing anything too crazy, but per my seafood craving, we are having a Crab Boil. I’m PUMPED! It’s, of course, princess themed. Also, we are going to a Peoria Chiefs game Friday and it’s Princess Night. From today on, it will be a pink blur.
Loving | My dear, sweet, hardworking husband. He REALLY held down the fort this summer and tries really hard to relieve some of the responsibilities I THINK I have to do. Also, while still working for his family business, he’s been amp-ing up sales at the feed store also! He’s basically magic. We are quite the sight around 9pm every night. I can barely move my 27-week pregger body & he’s just flat out wiped!
So, there you have it! T-Minus 7 days ‘til Ruthie starts kindergarten & Tessa starts ½ day Daycare. Order will come again. Football starts NEXT FRIDAY! WHAT?! I’m already working on the next post, so don’t worry. I’m back. I just needed to drag behind the bandwagon for a while. AND I’m sitting more b/c of this leading lady in the front here…I see more typing time in my future. J
Chow, for now.
